VOLUNTEER NOW
The Lincoln Fire Company has been a successful organization since 1851 for many reasons. But we would not be able to do any of the work we do without our dedicated volunteers. That is right! We are 100% Volunteer! We are continually seeking new members who are willing to serve as either firefighters or fire police officers. The Lincoln Fire Company will provide you with all of the training and equipment required to perform your job.
Once you submit your application along with the required background checks, it will be submitted to the Fire Company for review and approval. Once approved, a member of our membership committee will reach out to you to schedule an interview. After the process is complete, you will be issued appropriate safety gear and will be provided with various training opportunities.
Junior Firefighters: These are members aged 16-18 and are issued the same gear and provided with the same training as our firefighters. However, due to the law, they are not allowed to be placed into dangerous situations (i.e. inside a burning building). These members are valuable at incidents as they are able to provide support to our firefighters.
Firefighters: These are members over the age of 18 that are trained in fire suppression and rescue. These members are able to enter burning buildings as a member of our team.
Fire Police: The role of the Fire Police Officer is to maintain the protection and safety of Fire Company personnel and equipment while at an emergency scene. Fire Police, through their duties, also protect the victims, their valuables, property, and evidence at a scene. They are also there to control the actions of a crowd and keep them at a distance for everyone's safety.
Click here for our application or stop by the station on any Tuesday evening after 6:30pm!
